Here is a view of my campsite from the road. The driveway area has plenty of rooms for a car, pop-up camper, and a golf cart.
The sandy tent area could accommodate two small tents less then 4-person tents or one large tent. You can have up to 10 people in each campsite at Fort Wilderness! This is another money-saving benefit of tent camping at Fort Wilderness. This was the area directly behind my campsite. Remember to stay away from all waterways at Disney World due to wildlife such as gators.
There were some trees for privacy on both sides of my campsite as well. This is where you will find the restrooms, sinks, and showers.

Swimming, fishing, boating, transportation to the parks, shopping, dining, biking, and more. It is beautiful and immaculately kept. The site sizes are TINY!
We stayed in one of their Premium sites - the largest they offer. The first site we were assigned was on the end and required us to position ourselves across the main road and then back in at an extreme right angle. No way. They graciously reassigned us to a site that was easier to maneuver into, but STILL ridiculously tight - of course, designed in an era when RVs were not monsters like they are today.
Their service was incredible, as my husband had an accident while on property our fault and ended up in the hospital for FIVE days!
The Disney folks watched over our RV, offered to bring us food, send transportation for us, and helped us with our accommodations and park tickets since we were unable to use them all and ended up having to stay additional days. So, while prices are, indeed, high at Disney - the customer service is outstanding!
Would we stay again? Not sure in light of the high prices - but sure glad we did it once! Beautiful campground with spacious campsites.
It was fun to see other campers decorating their sites with Disney themes. We stayed in the loop. This is a good location as it is centrally located and there is a shuttle stop right there. You can also walk to the nightly campfire, Chip and Dale sing-a-long and movie. Stay late in the theme parks. Every park has an incredible fireworks show. It is fun to return to the campground at night from Magic Kingdom on the boat.
The shuttles are reliable. We did not use a car. We spent three nights at this very wooded campground. Each campsite is separated by dense foliage giving each site privacy. There was a comfort station in each "loop" that we very conveniently located.
The restrooms were very clean. I stuck my head into the showers to inspect also! Also clean. The 'Mickey' wristband prevents outsiders from entry to the comfort station.
Ice is available at each comfort station via a credit card actuated machine.
We recommend a golf cart to get around. Plenty of paved roadway for my bicycle rides. For those whom do not have a tow vehicle - There is an awesome restaurant Trails End Restaurant with buffet including a full bar Crockett's Tavern at the boat launch area. This allowed us to stay in the campground for our entire stay. There are two 2 camp stores trading posts in the campground and we were able to grab souvenirs and English muffins without leaving the park.
The Disney parks are easily accessible by boat or bus so no need to drive your vehicle to the parks.
Ft Wilderness sets the bar high and frankly is the "best ever" for any type of RV Park type camping. Everything clean always.
You will always feel safe and secure and in a family setting.Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground Tour RV Full Time
The only thing negative you will ever see is an occasional "knuckle head" doing something stupid on a golf cart.
The Disney Rangers will stop it quickly. Power and plumbing is always perfect. Cleanliness is always at a high level. In my opinion, a golf cart is a necessity at Ft Wildernesss. The plus acres cannot be fully appreciated without transportation inside the grounds. Step up and rent a cart for the full Disney effect. The only "down side" to your visit will be when you receive you credit card statement.
A little pricey but Disney products are famous for that. If you go during peak holidays like Halloween or Christmas, expect spots to be scarce and you will need to book early. Disney's camping property has a great restaurant in the camp grounds Trails End. If you are looking for a "Watering Hole". Crockett's Tavern is a great place for adult beverages and hot snacks. Snacks are also available at the main pool and a food truck with great sandwiches near the campfire party every evening.
The food truck is a new favorite. For a dinner show, you can reserve at the Hoop-dee-doo revue. Disney choices abound only a short free ride away. We took the girls to the BBQ they have in the campgrounds and it was a hoot.
Camping at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in Orlando Florida
The whole party was entertained. Rent a golf cart for some extra Fort fun; then go to the campfire sing along and free movie.
Chip and Dale will meet you there! Trading post and several restaurants available near boat dock which are good options if you have a meal plan. Bus and boat transit provide free connection to all of Disney parks. My Disney app allows you to check your room and magic band charges every second.
Download and use it. Bring bikes, the buses are great but take forever to show up. The pool at Wilderness lodge is a quick boat ride away and it's a much nicer pool with bar area so we hung out over there instead of the fort wilderness pool. Watch the fireworks from Magic Kingdom from the dock! If you have an RV of any size, go for a Premium site reservation. Lots on site for small kids.
For bigger kids and adults, expect to pay a lot to be entertained. Disney is not great at service--they have just learned that when you pay through the nose, you'll be willing to stand on line for a while or wait on hold forever. If you need to make reservations etc. When checking out, we went to park motorhome in overflow lot to do one last character dining meal and found the parking lot to be quite full of small trailers taking up large pull thru spots, a couple people parked on the sides of the parking lot making it a tight squeeze to maneuver, we spent a bit longer than we anticipated idling and circling for a space.
Bring bikes, scooters or roller skates. Be kind to the staff, you may get a treat "On The Mouse". Enjoy the campground!
So much to do that it is worth having a day just to explore all the awesome things they have to offer. It's Disney World. If your board, its your fault. Never saw anyone until sun down. Apparently everyone is at Disney, or the pools, during the day. We went to the Hoop-de-doo review the first night. Great way to go to Disney, spacious sites with trees in between, nice bike paths and pools, a little pricey for an RV park but cheap compared to other Disney resorts.
Trail End is quite pricey for type of food.

It's Disney, have fun! Boats take you to the Magic Kingdom, buses for all other destinations. Publix grocery store about 13 minutes away. Take boat to Magic Kingdom. Drive car to all other parks, parking free. MK will close whenever full, so always visit first in morning. The premium sites are not much better than standard sites, we might try standard next time. You can rent a golf cart or bike and drive up to the little beach on property.
They have quick service food and a souvenir shop up there as well. At night, watch magic kingdom fireworks from that beach and also the electric water pageant. All free to watch! Renting a golf cart is popular there but expensive. They are awesome to have if you don't have your own. But if you stay at the parks all day, it may not be worth it. The restaurants at the Fort don't have the selection and appeal of other Disney properties. Both are great choices. While at the Fort, take a carriage or wagon ride and roast a marshmallow at the campfire with Chip and Dale.
